I am a Scottish artist with a deep love for the natural world. I studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art and later spent many years teaching art — something that continually enriched my own creative practice.
I work from my home in rural Stirlingshire, surrounded by woodland that offers endless inspiration. Trees, shifting light and small found objects from the landscape often make their way into my work.
I usually start by working outdoors, sketching and painting on the spot to capture the atmosphere and structure of the land. Back in the studio, those quick studies grow into finished pieces using watercolour, oils, acrylic, or printmaking. My work often explores the mix of strong, confident lines and softer, layered textures — a nod to the landscape’s blend of resilience and delicacy. Hopefully resulting in artwork that feels calm, thoughtful, and closely connected to place, inviting viewers to slow down, look closely, and reconnect with the natural world.
