Jack Brabham (1926 - 2014)

Three-time Formula One world champion Jack Brabham is seen here at Oulton Park in the Gold Cup F2 race in 1964.

Bill also photographed Brabham in his first F1 race at aintree in 1955 as well as at Charterhall the same year.

Seen here In the paddock at Charterhall the Italian racing ace Giuseppe Farina chats to Chelita, the glamorous wife of fellow driver Prince Bira of Siam. An estimated 60,000 spectators came to Charterhall to see the international Formula one racing stars of the day.

Douglas Stuart, Earl of Moray.

The Earl of Moray, formerly Lord Doune, who died on 23rd September 2011 aged 83 was a keen car enthusiast. He competed in his Jaguar SS100 and in the imaculate ex Whitney Straight, Brince Bira, Maserati 8CM. Lord Moray had a varied collection of important racing and sports cars which were housed in the Doune Motor Museum in Perthshire and he created and supported the Doune Hillclimb on his estate. The hillclimb, run by the Lothian Car Club, continues to host the only Scottish round of the British Hillclimb Championship.
